The Mook

A very real, imaginary portrait.

Coming soon…

Kip was a man of contradictions—a restless drifter who longed for home, a sceptic stepping into a world brimming with belief. The sea called him to the south-west - to Cornwall, to a weather-beaten pub on a craggy coastline. A pub with a name as unique as its spirit: The Lost Penguin.

Here, the air crackles with stories. Shadows shift, truths misalign, and myths take root. On his first night, Kip finds himself at the wrong end of a gun. By morning, stranger things emerge - the penguin of death, whispers of the Mook, and a sense that something is very wrong.

But what exactly is the Mook? Whatever it is, Kip doesn’t believe in such things, of course. To find out more, he, like you, will need to step inside The Lost Penguin. Get ready for a good old-fashioned adventure.

Introducing our Children’s book

Initially a series of concepts and spoken stories. Inspired by, and told to my son Jude ever since he was born. I would tell him stories of a little blue penguin by the name of Little Mook and his journey between the Faerie realm and our own.

Largely based in and around Cornwall and Devon, the book also introduces children to the local Cornish language of Kernowek.

Now a fully realised adventure of art and story in print.

Just as Little Mook did on his adventures, we invite you to meet The Gromlings. They live on their Island home, off the coast of Cornwall, in a parallel universe - a place you may have heard spoken of known as Faerie - the land of the fey!

A distant evolutionary offshoot of the Cornish Pixie. They left the blue piskie life behind and now live a life of sun, surf and sand. As they catch waves off their Faerie island home and cross dimensions into Cornwall for a Cornish pasty, some fudge and Ice cream (which are a Gromlings favourite food).

Others of their kind can found in abundance throughout the lands of Cornwall and Devon, if you know where to look that is.

Find out more about them and their faerie pals here.
